My name is Laura Mills, and I am the library media technology specialist at Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, Georgia. I earned a B.A. in History and am seeking the M.Ed. in Instructional Technology through Georgia Southern University. My previous experience in the media center includes working initially as a media clerk and then as a library media technology support specialist. My mother, a retired school media specialist, always told me that the school library is the best place to work within a school; and after working in the various library positions, I quickly realized that she was absolutely correct! I am an advocate for students using technology while learning, and I feel that it is my duty to gain as much knowledge as I can about integrating technology into lessons. It is my goal to be able to assist staff and students by teaching them to use current technologies and to evaluate them to discover which ones work best for particular tasks or projects. This portfolio is a culminating project to display the various learning experiences provided during this program, as well as to depict the amount of work and knowledge required to obtain the degree needed for this position. Within these pages, you will find blogs, essays, web 2.0 projects, and so much more!
